Sitter : Winifred Edgcumbe, Baroness of Coventry.
Winifred Edgcumbe was the daughter of Colonel Piers Edgcumbe and Mary Glanville. She married Thomas Coventry, 1st Earl of Coventry, son of Thomas Coventry, 2nd Baron Coventry of Aylesborough and Mary Craven, circa 1660.
Winifred Edgcumbe bore two children -Thomas Coventry, 2nd Earl of Coventry 1662 - 1710 and Gilbert Coventry, 4th Earl of Coventry 1668 - 1719. She was buried on the 15th June 1694 at St James’ Church, Clerkenwell, London. From 1660, her married name became Coventry. As a result of her marriage, Winifred Edgcumbe was styled as Baroness Coventry of Aylesborough on 25th July 1687.
Thomas Coventry, 2nd Earl of Coventry. Thomas Coventry, 2nd Earl of Coventry was born circa 1662. He married Lady Anne Somerset, daughter of Henry Somerset, 1st Duke of Beaufort and Mary Capell, on May 4th 1691 at Badminton, Gloucestershire, England. He died in August 1710. He was buried at Croome Dabitot, Worcestershire, England.
Gilbert Coventry, 4th Earl of Coventry Gilbert Coventry, 4th Earl of Coventry was born circa 1668. He married, firstly, Dorothy Keyt, daughter of Sir William Keyt, 2nd Baronet, and Elizabeth Coventry, circa 30 November 1694. He married secondly, Anne Master, daughter of Streynsham Master and Elizabeth Legh.
